Question:
Come on people, metascores don't grow on trees. They cost money. Lots of it. So much so that the government almost rewarded the Metacritic contract to Haliburton without any competing offers. But luckily that didn't happen. But being a vaguely interested party, I was just curious as to how much you love your Metacritic. So with that in mind...how much would you be willing to pay per month to access this site?

Choices:
The price of filling up your car with gas in 1954
The price to filling up your car with gas in 2004
I'd pay for naming rights (as in (your name here) presents Metacritic.com)
Get back to me after the next Bush tax cut
I should be getting paid for even coming to this site

It isnt that I dont wish to pay to see Metacritic content. But, being a 14 year old with very little income, I dont think it would be possible to pay the smallest fee.

I wouldn't worry about it, Eccentro... I think MetaBrother is just trying to satisfy his morbid, east-coast curiosity... You won't ever have to pay for metacritic (as long as I'm one of the people running the show!)...

My morbid curiosity remains West Coast regardless of where I am, but yes I did not mean to scare anyone with the question. I just was trying to get myself closer to Slacker First Class status without having to call in any favors.

random question - when you're converting the scores for a critic who rates things with a four star system and something gets a three, do you account for the reviewer's slant or just give it a 75?

basically, do you all pain yourselves over the 100 point conversions? or do you get your fancy computers to do it? because that would affect how much I pay. which would be nothing, ever, despite an extreme addiction.

Depends. If we dont pay, do we get swamped with advertising?

Don't worry about it. You'll never have to pay for Metacritic. And you'll never see "pop-up" ads on this site. We're all about the user experience, and we personally hate pop-up ads. We'd rather lose a little money by not running those ads and please our dedicated users who'd rather spend their time enjoying the content than clicking off of pops.
