Haha, my friends are big fans of Marlboro Lights, but I go for Camel Lights first, then I generally go for Marlboro 27's. The buzz can depend on the type... I get a better buzz from camel lights than marlboro lights... Idk why. I like Camel's flavoring the most too.

I've never been a smoker, but I always find it curious that nearly everyone smokes either Marlboros or Camels. There's tons of cigarette brands. How do those other ones stay in business? Has anyone ever met anyone who only smokes Benson & Hedges, for instance?

Yeah, American Spirit are (supposedly, haven't researched the claim) an all natural, additive-free cigarette. My friends tell me that you get a really odd buzz. Btw, Idk how long you've been smoking, but you know you have a habit when you're to a pack a day (that's how I was... but now I'm down to a pack a week). Some of my friends smoke even more than that! It's bad...

No way man, I can't even imagine what a pack a day would be like. How could somebody possibly afford that? (not too mention all the health risks or whatever) I only smoke about 1-2 cigarettes a day and I can easily go a few days without one if I need to. As cliche as it sounds, I don't think I'm even addicted yet.

For God's sake people! I have been employed in the past as a researcher for lawyers working for tobacco co.'s. My job was to anticipate 'danger' areas for future litigation: I produced 'issue papers' for the lawyer to these businesses - for god's sake people don't fool yourselves! The only effect of 'lite' cigarettes is that smokers draw the smoke deeper into their lungs and it is thus harder to operate on! Further, the fibres from the filters lodges into the lungs and NEVER degrades - and this does not include all the deadly heavy metals (cadmium. lead) in the soil that gets into the tobacco. I have signed confidentiality agreements but I am a lawyer - I understand that as long as I do not name the brand, the firm etc - no liability! Nevertheless, please get away from this habit, your friends and those who love you would rather you stick around! If you do continue to enjoy the wonders of the mollecularly binded joys of tobacco and alcohol (they know) at least don't fool yourselves and those who love you. Your time is shorter than it need be. A confession of sorts...

Yeah, sorry for the preaching. No need to justify yourself. I have gone through several periods of smoking a pack a day and was smoking while I was doing the research i mentioned above! It was just an outburst of concern but I do realise how rationality has so alarmingly little to do with much of what we do!

Oh, and when I did smoke I only smoked Peter Stuyvesant, the international passport to smoking pleasure (as it promises on the pack - nowadays just underneath the pics of rotting cancerous gums!)

quote: I smoke cigarettes socially, and seldom at that (monthly) but do own a hooka and would suggest it as a much tastier and better experience than smoking nicocrack. Also, you get the opportunity to test various flavors and scents. But generally with cigs, I smoke Camel Lights.
Smoking from a hooka is a much smoother experience. The smoke is very mild, and doesn't induce couphing like cigarettes do. I prefer Cigars, personally, but I'm never interested enough to smoke a whole one. Camel Lights? Shame on you

I smoke Parliament Lights. I used to smoke American Spirits, but I got sick of 'em...it takes a good ten minutes to smoke one, and they don't draw very well.
While in college I was smoking ALL the time, whenever I could, a ridiculous amount. Now a few years later it's tapered down considerably. I don't have an addictive personality--there have been times when due to money or other reasons I just couldn't smoke for a week or more, and it was literally no trouble at all.
The thing about smoking is that it's an *obvious* and *visible* bad habit. I suspect most of the people who accost smokers have habits as bad or worse, which just aren't as immediately noticeable as a smoking stick between their fingers....other drugs, emotional instability, eating poorly, watching too much TV, never exercising, etc. All those things can damage you and shorten your lifespan as well.
