Depending on when the dog gets fixed, some dogs never grow out of the humping, even AFTER the fixin'. And some FEMALE dogs will hump things after they get fixed. We had a girl dog, totally fixed, who would ride one of her toys for an hour at a time.

Well, hey. Bentley got fixed and even has a new SISTER, Bailey. They were both fixed and neither of them "hump". Bentley was the only dog we ever had to worry about, but not anymore.

Here are some pictures of the cutest dogs ever...

My wife and I have two miniature schnauzers. They are half-sisters named Abbie and Mia(who will also answer to Little Miss). Abbie's birthday is the same as my wife, and Mia's is the same as Jesus'! So she's got that going for her.

I just bought a baby Flat-Rock Scorpion the other day, it's only about 2 months old... it's really tiny its only about an inch long right now, but when it matures it grows to about 9 inches long. It's my first scorpion ever...I was at the pet store buying some new food and water dishes for my hamster and I just decided to look at some of the exotic animals they had on display. When I saw the scorpion I knew right away I wanted it. I guess the situation was quite allegorical --- I was born under the sign of Scorpio (not that I believe in that astrology sh*t), so I thought it would be cool to own one of them impressive little predators.

In a nutshell, they're very interesting creatures. My parents freaked out tho... ah well... they'll get used to it.

Oh and yeah besides the scorpion and the hamster, we have a 4-year-old jackrussel terrier (George) and a 6-year-old regular short hair cat (Chloe).

I too have a cat named Chloe. She is a 4-yr-old seal-point Siamese.

We've got two Bichons, Lightfoot (named after legendary Canadian folk singer Gordon Lightfoot) and Sophie. At the moment we also have 8 Bichon puppies.

Lightfoot has such bad eyesight that on walks he's barked vehemently at plastic bags floating around on lawns, thinking that they're other dogs. It's pretty funny.

I own a black cat named Mariah.

Let me correct that, my cat owns a human, me. Or at least that's the impression I get.

I have a Ragdoll Cat called Vanilla. He is 5 this year and is about 20 pounds. He plays fetch at night and sleeps in the middle of the bed. My partner and I sleep around him. He does try to wake me up in the morning by stepping on me, talking into my ear and even leading my partner to the bed, but I've mastered sleeping through all that.

Mark, I'm not sure if you still have problems with your cat biting your ankles, but you can stop it a number of ways. Try not to tell your cat off for doing so or they'll just associate your voice with negative feelings(unless that's what you want). Use a water spray and when the cat attacks, spray its bum. Never in the face, if you get water in the ear, you could cause an infection. Otherwise, get a can and put some coins in it. Shake it when the cat is being bad. I use it only when my cat chews on wires. Use sparingly or the cat'll get used to it. And make sure you catch it in the act, never after or it's too late.

It can be hard to fix cat behaviour because its usually people who provoke such behaviour. So you'll need to be aware that you might be contributing to the cat's actions.

Hope I'm helping, not lecturing Smiler

I'm minding a guinea pig for the next 2 weeks. She's doing her thing over in the corner, in a fairly docile manner, truth be told... Roll Eyes

Just saw this thread and thought I'd share my pets..I'm currently living at "home" with the parents, where we have a guinea pig, a cockatiel, two parakeets and a golden retriever. I've always thought that any animal is capable of appreciating and giving love...it's hardest to tell with the parakeets (Angel and Bermuda), but they do say "hello" (stretch their wings) when a person approaches, just as they do with their flocks in the wild, and will preen our hair when we let them out.

Lizzie, our dog, is currently 17 years old, and will be 18 in a few months. Our vet says that's a couple years longer than she's ever seen a golden live, and strangely enough she seems to be doing fine. She's not always steady on her feet, and needs help going up and down stairs, but she still goes for walks, goes out when we ask her to, eats, chews on her bone, and seems happy and healthy. Occasionally she gets in a senile state of mind where she wanders aimlessly, circles 100 times before laying down, etc., but it's surprisingly infrequent.

The cockatiel, Sydney, is very affectionate and has a talent for whistling. He attempts to whistle along with music, and sometimes comes very close to getting the tune down. He likes to whistle back and forth with us in a call and response manner. The guinea pig, Daphne, is very docile as someone said, but clearly enjoys being taken out of the cage for people time.

I thought I posted this, but I guess not. My girlfriend and I have three dogs: a 4-year-old Rotty mix, a 14-year-old Chow mix, and 2-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound. All are rescues. Then there's Jinx the Cat, who gets everything he wants simply by making the most annoying noises in the world.

Speaking of pets (dogs in particular), did anyone see the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode where they use the dog creating software? Absolutely classic, I tell you.

I'm just a dog. The only words I know are Ball, and good...and rape

I must say the greatest pet I ever had was my Bonnet Makack, KinKaid. There is no animal more loyal than a monkey. He didn't have to be trained to be protective, he just was. He loved only me & couldn't be sold because, he couldn't attach himself to anyone else. He didn't fling his feces or pick his butt, he in fact hated a dirty diaper. He loved watching 'animal movies' with me & was in awe of Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes". He loved horses from far away but, was terrified of them up close. I do miss him everyday. He was killed by animal control when they found out I was keeping him in Independence, Mo. where it's illegal to have one. I actually didn't know this, I'd just moved there from Lee's Summit, where it WAS legal. My roommate let them in while I was at work, not knowing what they were after until it was too late. It was his ex-girlfriend who called them when she was angry about their break-up. Why she went after MY pet is beyond me! I do plan on getting another one, though, at some point, but, it'll never replace KinKaid.

"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"
