Unfortunately, there are no organized professional sports in my area, let alone cricket. Cricket does sound fun. Hee hee. But I do like to watch football, the weird gridiron one, not the ones where you actually use your feet. Sigh.

Its important to understand that Australians take their sport very seriously, and the measure of a man, in certain circles is how much punishment he can take on a sporting field. (this is not my personal view)

So while I can watch gridiron (calling it football is a misnomer), and appreciate the tactics, it is universally laughed at across Australia cos you guys wear so much padding, helmets etc.

Many has been the footballer in Oz who has played with broken arms and broken jaws. Wearing nothing but a cotton shirt and a lopsided smile, the Aussie warrior stays on the field of play...and all that macho nonsense, ha ha.

Alls fair in love and making fun of other nations sports.
That said, I really like watching Irish sports like Hurling and Gaelic football.
Hurling is for sure one nutcase sport...dangerous as hell.

Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been,
Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene;
As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be,
So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

Rugby is much more manly, isn't it? Razzer Remember, though, ish, US is a nanny state. So if someone breaks their collarbone, because they didn't have pads, the person gets to sue the NFL for 10 million dollars. And they get it.

When I went to ireland, I wanted to see one of those. But it wasn't the season Frowner

Wow! Madness. Why can't people take responsibility for themselves? Australians are very aware of the out of control law suits in the US, and we do our best to avoid heading down that road.

Another sport I really love playing is squash, and I've noticed in the US, players wear protective goggles.
That really took me aback. You don't need goggles to play squash haha.
Sorry to pick on you US types. I mean no harm.

That's what we're talking about on the 2008 Prez election. For some reason. Don't ask me how it got there. Conversations evolve slowly, and then they're all about something completely different than the topic. It is madness, though.

Protective goggles for squash!?!?!
!?!?! That must be so theit coach, or something, can't get sued for negligence. Stupid nanny state. If people are stupid, they deserve a squash ball in their eye.

It's okay, keep on picking. I don't like to get near those types Razzer.

To play? I can't think of a sport I've tried that wasn't fun. I'm with most Americans as far as Soccer is concerned (and that was my best sport in High School). Absolutely loved to play it, but I can't bring myself to enjoy watching it. I guess my favorite to play would have to be tennis. This is a sport that I love to play and watch. Baseball was my first true love, and I wish I could still play. I couldn't hit a breaking ball to save my life, so I never even made the varsity High School team Frowner

Favorite to watch? It's a toss up between MLB and College Football. Don't really care for any of the other proffessional leagues. I do love me some March Madness and the College World Series is pretty fun if Tennessee manages to get in there.

What if Obama gets into White House and turns out to be some crazy muslim terrorist? What do we do then? We'll be pretty screwed. It could happen." -- by some fucking nutjob
