I prefer basketball, though I just played it when I was in college because it was required in our academic. Playing basketball was really a lot of fun especially if you're a woman, lots of people are watching you and some are just teasing to make the game more challenging, lol! It's COOL! I love watching basketball like NBA, that was really GREAT!

OK, I guess it's time for somebody to make fun of somebody else's favorite sport, or maybe everybody's. Any new sports fans out there?

I'll bite.
My favorite sport to watch is football. I played it all through elementary school and middle school, I was actually pretty good, then I realized I had a much better time watching it than playing it. My favorite sport to play is baseball. Can't stand to watch it, but I've played all my life and love to play it.

Cricket is hands down my favourite sport to watch and to play. But I will watch just about anything, especially most types of football, i.e. soccer, union, league or Aussie Rules. Never gridiron. Thats just a joke.

Oh, come now Ish. Don't be insulting. It's just differences in what people grow up with. I don't think the States' football would get nearly as much grief if they wouldn't have used the same name as the world's most popular sport. There wouldn't even be any comparison between the two games otherwise. American football is actually an exciting and strategic game if you get used to it. I don't know anything about Cricket, and would probably be fairly bored watching it honestly. But I'd never call it a joke. All athletic events are inspiring in different ways. On the flipside, I understand that the average moron in the States says that our football is the "real" one. Now that is most ridiculous. Just to put in my opinion, my favorite sport to play by far is basketball. I used to love to watch it too until the Pacers went so far downhill.

I think soccer is a snoozefest, and I used to play when I was a kid. I'm reminded of the Simpsons epsiode where they go to a soccer game and the fans riot because it's so lame. The best was when the announcer says, "It's all here: fast kickin', low scorin', and ties." Baseball is the best sport. Football (American) is runner-up.

I don't see anything boring about soccer at all. Like so many people refer to it, it is "the beautiful game." Everything about it is fun to watch from the strategy needed, the superior skill, the intense conditioning, incredible footwork and the know-all to be able to position a free, corner or penalty kick right where you want. Watching the U.S.-Mexico game this past Sunday was very entertaining and the U.S.'s second goal to put them ahead 2-1 was an excellent play. I was esteemed to see the game and to watch our team represent us well. It was however, sad to notice that the majority of the fans there (about 70% I believe) were Mexico fans--and it was played in Chicago! I really love to play and watch most sports, I find very few of them boring. If I had to choose, to play: 1. Softball (Slow pitch) 2. Basketball 3. Soccer 4. Football To watch: 1. Football 2. Baseball 3. Soccer 4. Basketball

I appreciate the psychical conditioning required to excel at soccer, but watching guys kick the ball back and forth hoping that someone may score a goal over the course of an hour and a half isn't that exciting. I can't believe people kill each other over that shit.

And I'm reminded of the Simpsons episode when Homer stopped drinking and went to a baseball game. He said "You know, I never realized how boring this game is".

All this talk about Simpsons quotes reminds me of one that Chief Wiggum says as the coach of a hockey team, "We won! We won! We won! Um...unfortunately, I bet on the other team, so we won't be going for pizza."And this great one by Homer that is not relavant to sports but hilarious, as he goes to pick up Mr. Burns' mail: "Hello, my name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have some mail for me.""Sure Mr. Burns and what's your first name?""I...don't...know"

hey less, don't take me too seriously. I wasn't writing that gridiron is a joke with any venom. Aussies tend to use the word joke in a very conversational way. Please don't feel insulted. But it is a joke, right? You americans are having a laugh with that game, right? Anyhoo, you should see the real and utter scorn poured on Cricket, my love, my dear. The abuse I have had to fight off because I like the smack of willow on leather....wait, I'm getting my personal life confused with my sporting life.
