I want a karaoke game for my kids/husband and self. We all like 80's music on through to 2008. I am seeing different reviews on each of these, some positive and negative about each one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I don't waste my money on the wrong one.
Hi Wiimom, honestly in this case with these games, you're better off renting first. That might give the suprise away (if it is a suprise) but this is one of those things where you'd need to try them out yourself first.
Also, if you don't follow game titles like some here do - then reviews might steer you wrong anyway, as user reviews also may as well. Why? This feedback is from gamers, and they (myself included!) can be a nitpicky juvenile bunch that will knock a game for idiotic reasons, and following what joe-12-year-old says may not be what you want!
I've not played Boogie, but I own and love American Idol. The comments by the judges are fun, and it can be set to easy so almost anyone can build up their confidence before making it more challenging. The only thing that might make Boogie better, is that it features dance moves as well as singing. I don't believe either really recognizes words, as much as vowel sounds and timing. The biggest negative about American Idol is that there are currently no downloadable songs for the Wii. There are only 3 unlockable songs, and the rest of the unlockables are characters and outfits.
