does the fact that renee Zelwegger put on weight in Bridget Jones, portray the image that women in England are less attractive than those who are in America, or does it mean that veiwers can relate to her more as it is a truer representation of women in the 'real world?'

I thought Renee looked hotter when she was a little chubby, rather than rail thin. But to answer your question, probably a truer representation of women.
