I'm going to see it in about three hours. Yeah I know the reviews on here don't look too promising, but then again, Old School got a 52 and that was hilarious.
For those of you who saw the movie, preview, read something or...nevermind. Anyone. What are your thoughts?

I think it could be really funny. The premise is wonderfully absurd and with good writing it could be a winner. But, after seeing the trailer Im more than a little dissapointed. All the jokes were physical. I didnt find the wrench to the head funny---nor the hand to the crotch----nor the the fat girl to the skinny kid. I hope Roger Ebert is right when he said the trailer didnt have the best gags. Even if it is all physical a movie with both Ben Stiller AND Vince Vaughn (two of the funniest actors out there IMO) cant be that bad!
Hey, you're already seeing it, does it matter? Just go out and enjoy this one, don't think of it along the lines of "Old School" its a little more corny than that. The whole movie is just a huge joke, but I still cared about what happened. there were a surprising amount of twists in there; so it's not exactly a desperate movie, definitely worth while.!

"What does it matter?" What kind of question is that? It's not like these posts have any effect on what I do or think all day long. The obvious answer to your silly question is: it doesn't matter. I come on this site to entertain myself at work by reading people's posts and bashing the people who ask stupid questions (no names mentioned). Let's try asking you the same question: Why are you even answering my initial post? What does it matter to you? Exactly my point. Please don't ask anymore stupid questions.
As for the movie which I saw about two days ago, I thought it was pretty bad. It has its moments but there aren't nearly enough to make it worth my while. Unfortunately Vaughn doesn't really play a funny character, so it all rests on Stiller's shoulders.
And yes, getting hit in the testicles is funny the first few times, but by the twentieth time, it kind of gets a little old.
However, for anyone who saw the movie, I thought the team "Skillz that Kill" was hilarious.

The commentators for "the ocho" were hilarious, weren't they. I loved seeing that guy from Office Space along with his woefully ignorant sidekick

UK viewer - not out here yet but on it's way. I think this movie is a Must See - it toatlly hits the spot. I saw it in Corfu whilst on holiday last week, along with the local Greeks, most of the Irish & British who are working the season. There is almost a cult following already. Cannot wait for it to come out here and to buy DVD on release. The best comedies always include making fun of yourselves - this is a classic.
I thought the movie was stupid. Yes, there were some funny parts, but as a whole it was dumb. I can't see why everyone thought it was so funny. Overall, I thought it was a bad movie and Ben Stiller, even though he had his funny parts, got annoying after awhile.

No offense of course, but I think that E.M. and Kraft may be overthinking. Of course the movie was "Dumb," but so was "Dude Where's my Car," and several other comedies that are extremely funny but not very intelligent. I liked "Dodgeball," it was very funny and it is just one of those movies which you must leave your brain in your fridge for a couple hours.

I understand the point that the movie was supposed to be stupid and the stupidity was partly what you were supposed to laugh at. I found the movie amusingly stupid at more than one point when Ben Stiller acted idiotic in it. But, there were also numerous times when I didnt find it hilarious at all, I found it terrible and boring. The jokes werent funny but a sad attempt to make someone laugh. The movie tried and I seriously attempted to like it but failed in my quest.

To be honest, I don't think it wanted to break new ground. I think it wanted to gather a bunch of good buddy-type guys, the ones that you always like to see and feel the warmth between, and put them in a viable plot that you can follow while feeling like you are in good company, nothing more.
I thought it could have been much funnier. The scenes with Rip Torne were great, but I thought on the whole it was lazy.
For example the whole "Pirate" sub-plot just fizzled into nothing as if they forgot about it and couldn't work out a resolution. Then, in a rush, inserted a dumb pay-off.

you are far too right... I just like to kick back and enjoy, not analyze this movie. I mean, any GOOD movie should withstand analyzation, but dumb comedies with Stiller never do.
I thought the bloopers were Hil-ar-ious...movie was ok. I think I just like seeing ppl get hit in the face with wrenches and rubber dodgeballs...lol, i'm mean

My analysis is that it wasn't funny and I didn't laugh. Hence, I thought it was a lousy comedy. That's ignoring the fact that it was unoriginal and tried way too hard to be outrageous.
