Bubba Ho-Tep? Who woulda thunk I'd ever find a place where people love the movies I love? Anyways Ho-Tep was pretty sad too...

I always liked the idea of "Bubba Ho-Tep", and I love Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis, but I guess it took Ossie's death to get me to watch it. Ossie greatly resembled my pop, and I only really noticed it when he got older (my pop was born in 1910 and died in 1983.) I had seen director Don Coscarelli's "Phantasm" flicks and "The Beastmaster", so I was blown away by how well-crafted, witty and well-acted "Bubba Ho-Tep" was. I even commented to my family that it was at least as good as the current Best Picture nominees which I've seen so far. Any other "Bubba" lovers out there?

Big fan here. It was a long, long wait from the first time I heard about the movie, to watching the trailer, to finally seeing it in the theatre. I was supposed to do some flyering for a screening of it here, but the showing got cancelled and I had to wait to see it after the worldwide release date. A superbly crafted film, nothing is out of balance, acted perfectly, excellent score, awesome dialogue, so of course, grossly overlooked by the media and critics! But I'm sure it's too slow for many people anyways, what with the lack of blatant punchlines, car chases and exploding buildings and such. But hey, wait, it's got dick jokes! The sheep usually like dick jokes right?! All sarcasm aside, it's a great movie and everyone should give it a chance!

Yeah, agreed, its not completely what you'd expect from Bruce. He seemed to be in those movies that traveled 100 mph. After finishing this one, though, I was completely shocked. Its got all the elements of an average Bruce movie, AND s'more left over! Plus, who can resist Bruce's dashing good looks whiped twice over with an old Elvis face mask? I like how the old men took it on themselves to rid the nursing home of Bubba :P and the old man with the cap guns!!!
