I have no idea why Spanglish got such mixed reviews, and such a luke-warm metascore, because I LOVED that movie. In fact, I almost went back to the same theater to see it again the same day! The peformances are uniformly excellent. I'd put it in my top 5 of the year. (Along with "Dawn of the Dead" and 3 others I can't think of off the top of my head.)

I haven't seen it but judging from the trailers I get a very lukewarmn feeling about it. Tea Leoni, or however she's spelled, is one of the most annoying actresses in movie history. I can still hear her constant shreiking in Jurassic Park 3 to this day like some twisted Vietnam flashback...why didn't the raptors eat her?! Anything! There's nothing more frustrating than wishing for an hour and a half for someone's death and not getting satisfaction. Family Man was also extremely horrible. I can't look at her objectivly ever again, let alone in a romantic comedy. I hope Adam does better from this.

Dawn of the dead?

Well that certainly doesn't make me any more comfortable going to see Spanglish.

Adam Sandler is cool but it just looks like it isn't the right combination of actors. Its not that he can't be in a romantic comedy, its just this seems to be too far on the serious side.

if i want to see a serious adam sandler role give Punch Drunk Love anyday.

A good new style of a movie for Sandler to try out, and I'd like to see him in more and more of these films. I think he will progressively find his niche in the family movie area. Oh by the way 2way, I love Sondre Lerche
