Saw this over the weekend. My expectations were low, but my teen aged son wanted to see it, so...

It was hilarious. I appreciated that they avoided the easy homophobic humor, while still maintaining enough "bad taste" to make it edgy and funny.

I made the mistake of taking my 9 yr old (because she is a figure skater) and she about lost it when we saw the "North Korean footage" of the Iron Lotus. It wasn't really age appropriate for her in a lot of other ways, but she loved the skating sequences.

Anyone see it? What did you think? Are Ferrell and Hederer the comedy team for the 2000's. Like Hope and Crosby or Lewis and Martin?

I agree it was hoularious. In fct I liked this one better than Talladega Nights. This film is fun to watch.

I thought it was only ok. I really didn't want to see it (wanted to see Grindhouse or Hot Fuzz) but friends wanted to see this so w/e. Ferrel was particularly funny being the drunk at the beginning but it is just a normal Ferrel comedy, which is a good thing, but also bad. I honestly don't like Herderer but he wasn't too bad in this one. A few good laughs here and there but nothing gut busting...

I would give it a 6.5 out of 10

I saw this movie this weekend. I thought it was pretty funny... better than Talladega Nights(which I also enjoyed), but not as good as Anchorman.

As for your comment on Ferrel and Heder being the comedy team for the 2000's. I love Will Ferrell, but I'd take pretty much any member of Ferrell's so-called "Frat Pack"(Vaughn, Wilson bros., Ben Stiller) over Heder. That isn't to say that Heder didn't do well... I just don't think he carries the stage presence that some of the rest of those guys do.

Agree with you MN. I thought they had pretty good chemistry, but the tough guy/wimpy guy routine is pretty limiting. And Jon Heder doesn't seem to have the range or "weight" that Will Ferrell has. For a truly great cinematic comedy team, I think both members have to be great independently. Hence, Hope/Crosby were great, Abbot/Costello only good. Marx Bros.= great. Bowery Boys=mediocre.
