Everyone knows Steve Carrell, the copilot for movies like Anchorman and Bruce Almighty. You know, the dumb weatherman? Well hes got his own movie! It looks fricken hilarious! Check it out here

Steve Carrell is a funny dude. So is his partner in crime Will Ferrell. They are solid talents but I hate them both. They have have infested the film pool with so many "smart-dumb" movies that the "dumb" overpowers the "snmart" and everything becomes humorless. This is more the fault of Ferrell because Carrell has yet to prove his worth as a leading man. Look at Ferrell's recent films: "Kicking and Screaming", a rather mundane looking children's comedy that released itself during a summer with one too many "Bad News Bears"-esque films (see: Rebound and Bad News Bears). See: "Bewitched", a wretched attempt at being clever while simply being just one more TV show movie. Ferrel is helping to saturate waters that are already oversaturate. At the same time he is being terribly unfunny. "Anchorman" was amusing for the first 30 minutes than it became tedious and boring and "Elf" (by far Ferrel's best movie) was cute and clever despite a dumb ending.

:ends rant:

I'll give "40-Year Old Virgin" a chance, though.

I saw the poster when I saw Batman Begins a few weeks ago (which was the first and last time I've been to a theater in the past 6 months). The poster itself is comic gold. The look on his face is priceless.

But I seriously doubt it will be a good movie. It'll have some funny moments, but it'll run out of steam a quarter of the way through.

The ONLY reason I'd disagree is because the director is Judd Apatow, the dude that was behind Freaks and Geeks. Sure, you could say "oh, but he produced Anchorman and Kicking and Screaming" but this is the first one hes DIRECTED. C'mon guys, I think this one deserves a shot.

I just seen that movie today and I think its a very funny movie... But thats probably because it reminds me of my aunt.I've never seen a movie before with Carrel, excpet Anchorman, which I like, but none of the other movies with Ferrel in it. But I dont mind either actors.. an actor I really mind is Jim Carry or whatever his name is. He really pisses me off for some reason.

I give it a 9 out of 10!

Steve Carrell is the new Steve Martin, He was born with a face that was made for comdey. This was a great vehicle for his talent. The movie treats a very serious issue with humor, which is the best way to handle difficult human issues. The pressure to lost one's virginity is very real snd remains THE consuming goal of every young male; in light of AIDS and other STDs, losing one's virginity is riskier and therefore, stressful. The manner in which his friends try to help him, expose the ridiculous "locker room" myths that are as old as me. And there are some new ones, like waxing the hair from the chest. To date myself, I lived in the day of the "Burt Reynolds" looks: hairy chest and cheesy mustache. No young male would shave his chest or mustache (if we could grow one). Still, it is a good movie that confronts one of the more serious anxiety-producing male issues with relevant entertaining humor; thus, robbing the issue of some of its power to define someone as a "real man."

Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

wow. accidentaly hired this from blockbuster. Again wow, possibly the best crude-style comedy ever. Characters are likable and funny, while offensive material is mostly minimised. Steve Carrel- brilliant. 9/10 Wink
