Mine are:
Animal Farm
Flowers for Algernon
Old Yeller
The Amber Spyglass and The Subtle Knife (his dark materials)
I can't think of others right now

if you have a chanse, leave some flowers on algernon's grave in the bak yard.

Douglas Adams - Last Chance to See

Jack London - Call of the Wild

animals in distress? I bawl every time...

and welcome to the site, davindie Smiler

Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been,
Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene;
As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be,
So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

I feel that. Most of the below are from my youth.

Stone Fox
Watership Down
The Plague Dogs
Where The Red Fern Grows

I'm getting a little weepy just thinking about them. Frowner

Same here and like Padfoot, most of these are from my youth:

Shiloh
Old Yeller
Animal Farm
Ethan Frome

And I don’t know if you guys have heard of it but a few years back my sister gave me a copy of Rob Thomas’ Rats Saw God and I thought it was extremely sad.

The two I can remember the most from my childhood were
My Brother Sam is Dead and
Bridge To Terabithia

Little in life has made me cry harder than reading those books.
