If you've read this book, even if only once, or even if you just tried to read it, this is probably the easiest line we've ever had. If you haven't, it could be tough. I have, so it's easy. The book is Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban. I read it in a Science Fiction class I took in college and, like Ish, highly recommend it.

None of my books are here. Give me a second to go find a book. Unless you want a quote from a geology textbook (that's all my grandfather has! )

Okay. I've got a good one. Final line from a classic. "And, to our bitter grief, with a smile and in silence, he died, a gallant gentleman."

I know what it is, and I'm not telling! It's a totally fair cop, though. You've all read this book, or should have.

I know what it is, but I cheated. I'll let everyone else guess.

Well, we certainly don't want to give any positive reinforcement to cheaters. I'm pretty sure somebody on here knows this one but just either hasn't seen the quote or hasn't chimed in, but since it has been over a day, maybe I'll throw in another quote from the same work: "Have you not done tormenting me with your accursed time! It's abominable! When! When! One day, is that not enough for you, one day he went dumb, one day I went blind, one day we'll go deaf, one day we were born, one day we shall die, the same day, the same second, is that not enough for you?"

This is Waiting for Godot, isn't it? I performed this in high school, but I haven't read it for yrs, and I adore Beckett.
'for my purpose holds to sail beyond the sunset, and the baths of all the western stars, until I die.'
