... I just finished WOLVERINE: ENEMY OF THE STATE: THE COMPLETE EDITION, and it's the first Wolvie book I've purchased (I'm usually more of a DC guy, but the Wolvie appearance in the X Men movies tweaked my interest). I loved this story. The scope stretched out like a good adventure novel, and I loved how each major player really got something to do in this involved storyline.
I haven't read a graphic novel since last August, stuck here as I am in China, but I was reading Y: The Last Man just before I sailed, and I can't wait to get home and find out what happened....

All I can say is I wish I was across the sea, in comic mad Japan....sigh....

The last one for me, Sin City's 'The Hard Goodbye'. Very good, indeed. Oh, & Trekscribbler? If you enjoy a good Woverine story, pick up the trade paperback of 'Origin'. It's exactly what it sounds like, Wolverine's origin. Taking place waaaay back in the day when he was just a child. It shows the first time he popped his claws, the first person he ever killed, why he has a thing for redheads, how he got his codename (Wolverine), & most of all, why he's called Logan (hint: it ain't his real name)! I read it several times before handing it over to a friend o' mine & then he read it & wanted more! It really is a great story & beautiful artwork!
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

^^ Thanks for the recommendation, Monkey_Boy, the 'Origin' is on my list to purchase and read. I've never been an X-Men fan, but a buddy of mine swears by them. The only character from the flicks who honestly interested me was Wolverine, so I'm exploring 'em. I read ENEMY OF THE STATE and last night I read the WOLVERINE hardcover by Chris Claremont & Frank Miller. I thought it was pretty solid except for the last chapter, but the previous 120+ pages were worth it. Any other solid recommendations I'll take. My stack of graphic novels to read only keeps getting bigger. I'll finish 'em all before I'm dead.
Anyone here read the Walking Dead books? Not sure if they are considered graphic novels or collections. Either way, would love to hear if they're worth my time.
