Maxwell has a new CD slated for release early in April...just wondering if anyone's heard about it. I guess it's old news for some people, but I just learned recently.

April? I'm so there. Been waiting for this album for what feels like an eternity.

me too. "now" was praised but it was underappreciated in my opinion. has to be one of my favorite albums of all time. its so sexy. we've all done it... locked the doors and tried to match max's falceto on "this woman's work". what a talent. i just hope the album is as good as past efforts and doesnt follow the pop tart bubble gum formulas of current soul/R&b

Is the new cd still due this month? I haven't seen a release date anywhere.

The only Maxwell album I've heard is Urban Hang Suite, which I really enjoyed.

Embrya is really something to be treasured as well as the single "Fortunate" They are all fabulous really, however, I heard that Maxwell had a new one set to come out soon, I've been asking the record store every now and then and noone seems to have any idea/ Anyone heard it yet? Or know when the release date is? I would love to see him do another tour....

Urban Hang Suite was good, but I rate Now better.

As for the new album, I've been asking around as well, and everyone is just as clueless... At the time I started this thread I read in an Internet article (probably just a rumor) that was he was going to release it in *April*. Hm. I dunno.

I guess we'll just have to wait a little longer...

After being delayed so long it's finally being released sometime February. The album is titled Black Summer's Night. I personally haven't heard any tracks from it, but apparently a single had already been released in the fall last year.

I am new here and saw this thread, I was just wondering, what is everyone thoughts on Black Summer.

I can't wait for this album! I've been waiting forever, and I hope the wait won't last much longer. I heard a snippet of one of his songs a few days ago and I love, love, LOVE it! I also heard the one song that had been released from the album and I love it, too. I know this album is going to be just as great, if not even better, than his others. This man is SO talented and his voice....omg....he has such a gorgeous voice.

i'd sort of given up on him. it's been way too long.

Like most records of late, it just keeps getting pushed back but perhaps with greater severity. Apparently one of the tracks if I'm not mistaken was being streamed on his myspace.
