If we add a Soul/R&B category will YOU post there?
I wore out my copy of "Land of 1,000 Dances" when I was a kid, but I was lucky enough that it was on the jukebox at my junior high, so I got to hear it again every day at lunch.
"In the Midnight Hour" and "Mustang Sally" are also personal faves, but I have nothing else to say but R.I.P., Brother.
"Naked Woman, Naked Man Where did you get that nice sun tan?"

I always thought Wilson Pickett was underrated and his music overlooked in favor of Otis Redding (whose recordings I love dearly but give Wilson his due, his songs were extremely heartfelt and soulful- and you could dance to them).
Listen to his "If You Need Me" and just try not to get shivers. There's a couple great Pickett comps on Rhino, definately worth the investment.
