I guess I'll start it off

Animal House - the scene where the guy is pushing the girl in the shopping cart and leaves her at somebody's door. Looks different now, but I still recognized it. I almost jumped up when I saw it, even though multiple people told me it was in the movie.

Anyone else have any experiences like this?
(movies filmed in your hometown, being an extra and such)

I lived on Waverly Place in Greenwich Village from '82 to '87 and movie crews filming were a regular occurrence. While living there they filmed BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY based on Jay McInerny's best selling novel. I couldn't even walk down my street to get home, but at one point my apartment building and the outside of my apartment was in there. The character played by Michael J. Fox lived in the building across the street.

And the same apartment building also appeared in the film AUTHOR, AUTHOR with Al Pacino, but that one was filmed before I lived there.

Recently, I caught up again with KISS OF DEATH, which was filmed in the late 1940s, and some of the location footage took place near where I live now in Astoria in Queens. It was close, but no cigar. It is the scene in the house Victor Mature moves into after he re-marries.

I own a business that was used in "Fried Green Tomatoes". Just across the street from the "Whistle Stop Cafe".

Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

There's a scene in Mike Hodges' I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (2003) with a building in the background with a Heinz Baked Beans tin on its roof. That's at the end of my road.

My house was in Stand By Me for maybe a second or two just at the last scene in the movie before the kid turned and walked up the street. I oughta watch the flick again just to see what else I recognize.

I remember eating athe the cafe at the University of ORegon where Belushi did the food fight. It felt weird to sit in the same booth. No stains anywhere nor a plaque either!
