My boyfriend and I decided we are going to try out NetFlix. Was wondering if anyone else had it, and if so, do you like it?

Became a member about two months ago. It's sometimes inconvenient. I haven't really tried to order any new releases so I don't know how the service and availability are, except one time. There's enough older stuff that I get to catch up on. I've had one partially damaged DVD out of maybe 25 so far that would get stuck. The turn around time is pretty decent if you don't mind waiting two or three days and then dropping off the watched DVD in the mail (or post office if you're paranoid about it being stolen from your mailbox). There's a also a strategy with the subscription plan - I have a two DVD plan that allows one to spend time watching one while the other one is in transit back to Netflix's local distribution centers and then a new order being mailed back out. It's not a perfect system. It has its little kinks. The instant downloads are rather interesting though pretty limited - a there is a smattering of pretty nifty releases, perhaps just enough to keep one hooked on keeping a subscription. Overall, I'm willing to keep using Netflix for the time being until something better comes out. The selection of older, more artsy, television, and general DVDs is way large compared to The Redbox (though perhaps a little more more expensive). But using Netflix seems to be cheaper than Blockbuster or Hollywood Video if one watches more than three or four DVDs a month.

I am currently a member of Blockbuster online, and I am growing increasingly frustrated with their wait times for Blu-Rays. Almost every movie has a long wait. What about renting BLU on Netflix? Is everything in stock?

Sorry don't know. I'm still using HD DVD old stuff. I think Blu-Ray while supposedly superior technologically speaking, it's in the end going to be a profit making marketing ploy when everybody has to buy new equipment. The consumer gets the shaft once again! Hopefully I won't have to change over for a long, long, long time! I'm fed up with being manipulated for profit.

My husband and I have it, and we love it. We see new movies before they go to tv. There are really great older movies and music discs, as well.
