The painted credits to the opening and closing of "The Red Shoes" are probably the most colorful and artistic I've ever seen. The Technicolor in this movie may represent the zenith of its use and may best be represented in the credits. I especially love the fact that the candle is full and has just been lit at the beginning, and that it has basically burnt itslf out at the end. The Red Shoes add the obviously-perfect touch, along with the book by Hans Christian Anderson. I highly recommend this film to everyone.

I realized that nobody has mentioned the opening credits to "Napoleon Dynamite." I loved how they used a different plate of food for each person named. And the coolest part was how every dish had an appearence later on in the movie!

The opening credits to "A Very Long Engagement" are very stylish in the way they combine modern film technology with something which looks like your great-grandmother's scrapbook. The closing credits also show black-and-white photos of all the actors which could have come from that self-same scrapbook.

Having just watched Gone With the Wind again, I can easily say it has some of the best opening credits of all time. All set to Max Steiner's memorable theme, the title is blown across the screen in huge letters, followed by some of the most-beautifully photographed outdoor scenes ever, with all the crew credits listed, followed by a breakdown of all the significant character names and the actors who played them, all differentiated by where we first see them. This movie is truly epic, even from the get-go.

I have bumped some great threads that worthy members have created that haven’t seen much action lately. I know we have a new batch of members and maybe they’d like to share their opinions in a few of these threads.

I am not sure if any of my most memorable credits are genius, but here they are:
For opening credits the one that stands out most for me was Wimbledon. The movie was good, but the credits set the tone for me, the music, the colors, and the techniques all looked wonderful for me.
Oh, and I've thought of another one, the opening credits for Hocus Pocus. I don't know if it original or anything, but the sigh of a witch's shadow speeding across dark water and that creepy music was pretty effective.
And then for ending credits the one that pops into my head is The Terminal I thought it was pretty clever to have the directors, actors, etc sign their own names.
