According to imdb, Don't Look Now is being remade and scheduled for a 2007 release.
I've been angered by pointless remakes before, but for some reason this one really gets me. What's worse, they're making major changes to the story: the "dwarf" will NOT be in the remake (seriously), and there are plans to add "more sex scenes."
I'm afraid it looks like this classic suspense/horror flick is in for the same remake treatement that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "The Hills Have Eyes" got. Which is to say, it will probably completely miss the point of what made the original great, and be marketed toward the lowest common denominator.
I really hope I'm wrong...in the right hands, I suppose it *could* turn out pretty well. I mean, if someone like Cronenberg directed, and Philip Seymour Hoffman and Rachel Weisz were cast in the leads, it would be a movie I'd want to see.
The one good aspect I see is that the original will receive some public attention, and hopefully be seen by more people. At the moment the original DNL remains a kind of semi-forgotten gem, like The Conversation or Picnic At Hanging Rock...

Hmm, guess I was just talking to myself There are probably enough "remake" discussions here already, but anyone have any thoughts on this particular one? Doesn't it have a bad smell to anyone else?
