This topic came to mind after watching the DVD for Ocean's 12. I finish the movie and look under Special Features. This is what I see:
Theatrical Trailer
That's it. One option. Nothing more. Nothing less.
I don't care if you liked the movie or not. The fact is that people are going to spend way too much money on this DVD.
This does not sit well with me.
The people at Metacritic know a rip-off when they see one. So help uninformed consumers everywhere. Get the word out about bad DVDs by posting them here.
As for Ocean's 12... consider yourself warned.

If I really liked a movie, whether or not the DVD had special features probably wouldn't be a deciding factor when it came to purchasing. There's no way in hell I'd consider buying Ocean's Twelve, though, even if it weren't just a bare-bones, movie-plus-trailer release.
Most of Madman's anime releases are pretty dire when it comes to extra content; usually just Japanese language option, subtitles and trailers for the company's other published titles.
However, it's hard to recommend not buying a DVD for any other reason than the movie/program itself simply not being worthwhile. Unless there's a different, better release of the title available for a reasonable price.

I agree completely with Biggles. I, personally, do not purchase a DVD for its "Special" features but for the actual movie. Who cares if it gives you 10 hours on how they made the film? Special features can be great if they are entertainig, but I really don't base my purchases on them.
