i dont think the movie Thirteen was based on high school kids but it definitely deals with school, and nikki reed is awesome so i'd go with twilight and thirteen

Oh man, Thirteen was disturbing... I HOPE it wasn't based on real kids, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it had been. Nikki Reed was good though, yeah.

Good selection. I overlooked this movie. The idea of girl harrassment and its being addressed was handled well. Very contemporary.

high school musical is my favorite. I love the heroin. but why not trying some scifiction dramas? just as Farscape 1-4 seasons Boxset

Mean girls - the categories deal is kinda cruel, but true. Don't ask why I watched the movie to begin with.

I've been out of school too long! Both considered classics of high school movies.

High School Musical is nice... Bratz is also good one.

"X-Men" is definitely one of the most inaccurate movies about school life.

Yes, "School of Rock" is surprisingly good, and its balanced depiction of the headmistress is different.

"Election" is the best of both worlds in that it winningly captures school life for teachers and students alike.

"Donnie Darko" didn't seem to get a mention in this thread.

Good examples are few and far between, and "Dead Poets Society" or "Good Will Hunting" are sickeningly saccharine, predictable fare. Give me "Election" or "Rushmore" any day over that schmaltz.
