I would be extremely happy AND surprised if either Batman Begins or War of the Worlds are as good as Sith is. As a stand-alone entertainment, Sith is aces, but as a way to recast an entire six-film series in a different light, it's nonpareil.

It is sad to say, but "Batman begins" blows the doors off of Revenge of the Sith. I wanted Sith to be good, but it was mediocre like all of the predecessors of the pre-trilogy. The only reason I found myself going to these first three films is to recapture the excitement and nostalgia from the movies that did do well. I hope that the franchise will continue, but with better writers who are more concerned with character, dialogue, and plot and not so much the visual effects.

I'm gonna assume your'e talking about the Star Wars series. If they made episodes 7-9, they would probably be very stupid and unnecessary. If they couldn't make eps. 1-3 good, why would 7-9 be any different? What I think would be cool, and what wouldn't have as much pressure to be good, is if they could make a movie that is set in the Star Wars universe, but isn't part of the actual series. Sort of a spin-off, I guess.

There is a great "children's" movie "The Never-ending Story" that speaks to adult life. The world that is disappearing and in need of saving is the adult world of "dreams." When we stop dreaming of a better life we destroy the future of our children. This beautiful movie, full of great special effects, has a lot to say to us when we understand what it is that is crumbling and why.
Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

I have bumped some great threads that worthy members have created that haven’t seen much action lately. I know we have a new batch of members and maybe they’d like to share their opinions in a few of these threads.

I love Steve Carell, and he got even better than in The Office! It's definitely a much better movie than the Love Guru and Myers. Although I really adore Jessica Alba and Timberlake always gets my attention, still the movie is full of lame jokes and old cliche. Definitely choose Get Smart for the laugh of your week!
