So I am not sure where to post this, this is my first discussion starter in the movie thread so this is big! Anyways, this in response to a comment that some old guy who got into it with me—still awaiting my personal apology :cool—about some other old guys making music. Back to business, I am not sure if there already exists such a thread but:

I saw on your auto-bio that you listed the aforementioned shark thriller as the best film and one of your faves. I know about movies as well and not only can I think of more than, even five other ones that the director himself made, that are better than that one but lets even just focus on the year that it was nominated for "best picture."

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is not only so much better than it but it simply shines. Arguably Jack Nicholson's (my all-time favorite actor) best performance but it hit on all cylinders including directing, acting for lead actor and actress, and writing. It is such a special film, filled with many beautiful moments that is encompassed with humor, drama, sadness, anger, ridiculing and great wordplay within the characters. There are not enough superlatives to describe what this movie means to me and just how amazing it is. Not to mention that it is one of a handful of films to sweep "The Big 5" at the Oscars.

Well, I did respond to this over here. Maybe somebody else might want to add something?
