A poll over at www.upcomingmovies.com gave me the idea for this one. There are movies that should never have been remade, and then there are great remakes. What are some movies that you think should be remade for present day? This could be a remake of an original that was bad but had a good idea going, or even a great film that would or could be fun to see remade with modern technology. Anything!

My choices:

French Connection While the original was great, I think a new version could be a lot of fun, complete with a new "best car chase scene ever on film".

North By Northwest Sacrilege, I know. But if done right, I think this could be one sweet remake.

Freejack This one had a good idea going, but in the end, turned out to be poo.

Pearl Harbor This one needs to be remade, mainly because Michael Bay's version was absolute crap. I would also add the bombing of Hiroshima on the end of the new version.

Condorman I love the original, but I think it would be very fun as a modern remake.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back.

I agree that Freejack would be a cool choice. Seriously Jackie, The French Connection? North By Northwest? In this day in age we should be encouraging creativity and originality, not copies or remakes. Too many remakes and sequels have been made this year alone. Maybe that's just me.

Here is an original idea that I (amongst others) would love to see happen. We open up on Michael Bay. He is sitting on the set making another Brukheimer flick when BAM! an anvil falls out of the sky, killing Michael bay instantly. An original movie with a happy ending.

Hey, What I said was, ANY movie that would or could be redone with new flair that would be fun to watch. Most critics agree that the Manchurian Candidate is a great classic and STILL are hailing the remake as an excellent movie. All I'm saying is, done right it COULD be cool to watch. I'm not saying anything about stifling creativity. I'm just saying Hey, this could be pretty fun to see.

So throw a brother a bone here. I'm just trying to get some more interesting topics in this forum!

Courtship of Eddie's Father -- Shirley Jones was SO HOT in that (as emarrassing as that may sound), but I can see somebody like Renee Zellweger playing that role to perfection, with maybe a George Clooney playing the lead. The film may be a little dated, and there may not be a modern actor with enough balls to play Glenn Fords politcally incorrect role like it should be played, but it could be a great film.

That's all pretty dead-on, especially that Shirley Jones is HOT in all her pre-Partridge Family movies. I wasn't embarrassed about Indiana Jones, and I'm definitely not embarrassed by talking about how women who are older now are or were hot. It's part of the perks of getting older: even more women look good, but hey, I stray, Shirley Jones looked good to me before I hit puberty. I also think Clooney can play PC Not! if he wants to.
