Primer was on IFC this morning so it might be on again soon.

Thanks I'll keep an eye out, I've watched some movies on IFC I would never have seen otherwise.

Put the recommendations in your library too, then slowly follow them. Most of the movies on these lists do have immense replay value. I would also add here Eyes Wide Shut and Apocalypse Now.

I just watched Apocalypse Now and loved it but now I have to watch Apocalypse Now Redux (or should I not?).

I wouldn't watch Redux unless you just have time to burn or just can't get enough Apocalypse Now. I bought the DVD set with both versions of the film on it, but they split it up in a way that you have 1/2 of each movie on each of the 2 discs, just stupid to make me change discs, instead of having one disc per version.

Does that make any sense?

I've decided to just settle for Apocalypse Now with the reason simply being that it's great but if the opportunity arrives I'll watch Redux (preferably in 1 piece).
As for the new additions I have to agree with Memento and Aliens but 24 (aside from not being a movie) is more of a one time through deal for me. I enjoyed it but I don't see myself revisiting it anytime soon. I really like Full Metal Jacket but I prefer the first act (boot camp) which takes a little away from the second act for me since the second doesn't have a character as good as the drill sergeant.

Oh and the newest addition to the list: The Dark Knight of course (and now the wait...)

I agree with your Full Metal Jacket comment. I loved the boot camp sequences too, but not so much the actual battle scenes.

I would agree with most of the mentions listed here (especially Monkey's mentions), but I'd like to add one movie that I don't think was mentioned already: Wallstreet. God I love this movie. In terms of how many times I watched it, it may rank as my all-time favorite.

Also, I think these were mentioned but Godfather and Godfather 2 are both great.

Unlike the other movies on my to see list I have never even heard of Wallstreet., I will add it immediately though.
In my defense I have only lived in the US for a few years so I have plenty of catching up to do. That also kind of explains why there are so many classics I have yet to watch.
It's kind of hard to hide from the Godfather movies though, they are just that good.
