Though the psycho-horror genre is widely used, I thought "Identity" put a new twist on this type of film. This film let us in on the mental dysfunction much too early. Still, it was a new way to explore the frightening reality of violent multiple personalities. An older film that did not get the attention it deserved also revealed that Hollywood could be creative when it stopped going solely for the big bucks. The film was Momento. This film was difficult to follow, but the premise was totally unpredictable. Either you gave up early while watching this movie or you sat up, intensely watching every moment for fear you might miss something vital.
Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

i don't think hollywood is starved for new ideas. people (you, me, everybody out there - hi ) go to hollywood. they run, swim, fly, crawl on their bellies over vast distances just to be part of hollywood. they bring the new ideas which we marvel through year after year. ofcourse, as an industry, they need to churn alot of product and the sheer volume keeps them afloat and economicaly viable so they can occasionally fund the special picture.

I thought Identity was the movie that Charlie Hoffman's brother was working on in Adaptation.
