Did anybody else find this movie to be horrendously overrated? I went in the theater with really high expectations expecting to be taken to another world (based off the cool previews) and was very....underwhelmed. I don't really feel like giving my reasons just looking to see what people think.

Oh and this is in contrast to Children of Men which was fucking awesome.

I thought both films were spectacular and top five quality for each.

Well, I guess that's why they make a lot off different movies, because my feelings were completely opposite. I thought Pan's Labyrinth was an incredibly moving tale of a little girl caught up in a vicious civil war and how she ultimately escapes. I wasn't, however, looking to be "taken to another world" and I have a huge interest in the Spanish Civil War.

On the other hand, I couldn't make head nor tails out of "Children of Men" and thought it remote, bewildering and uninvolving.

C'est la vie.
