My bad, once again.

Actually, I enjoyed UNDER SEIGE, which I felt was a better movie than THE SEIGE. In fact, UNDER SEIGE is Steven Seagal's best movie, which may be damning the film with faint praise considering Seagal's wretched body of work. UNDER SEIGE, in fact, is the only Seagal "star" vehicle I saw and I thought it was flat out terrific, mostly because villains Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey were so, so good in that film. Andrew Davis directed THE SEIGE and it put him on the map. He went on to direct THE FUGITIVE right after. I don't know if UNDER could be considered a "guilty pleasure." To each his own. I don't feel guilty about seeing nor about enjoying it.

Most of the movies mentioned above, I have no trouble enjoying.

eg. T2, Total recall, Waterworld, Howard the duck, 1941.

A couple of these I don't think one should feel guilty about. T2 is a flat out terrific film. It was helmed by an A-list director, James Cameron, and pushed the envelop with its special effects. I liked Arnie as a villain in the first TERMINATOR, but if there was perfect casting, Arnold as a cyborg would be it. I also always find Robert Patrick to be an interesting actor. He never became a star, but was very good as the bad terminator in T2 and was also good the other times I've seen him in films like COPLAND & WALK THE LINE, where he may bag a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award Nom.

I also don't think TOTAL RECALL could be considered a guilty pleasure. I didn't think it held up all that well when I viewed it a second time on Laser Disc, but it is one of Arnold's better films and it starred a pre-BASIC INSTINCT Sharon Stone.

I do agree, though, that if you enjoyed WATERWORLD, you should feel guilty. Was that one ever a turkey! I never did see HOWARD THE DUCK, but it has the reputation as one of those films that is so bad, it is good so that could be considered the quintessential Guilty Pleasure. 1941 is one that kind of falls in the middle. Not terrible in a WATERWORLD sense, but not a good film like T2 and a lesser extent TOTAL RECALL.

Big GrinHarold and Kumar Go To White Castle. I just love a good drug-buddy-road picture.

I really love westerns. If I have spare time, I usually watch the Dollar trilogy or any other movies from Sergio Leone, Tin star, Rio Bravo or The Plainsmen. The only not-western movie I REALLY like is The Warriors.

I don't feel guilty likin these movies, but other people think I'm crazy and laugh at me and then start talking about the latest Scary movie.

Star Wars is kind of one, but a fair amount of people really do like these movies. I'd have to say it's Mean Girls. I really liked that movie.

Mike Hodges' 'Flash Gordon' has to be the ultimate guilty pleasure. Very entertaining.
