Gremlins 2, The Evil Beneath Loch Ness, Killer Clowns From Outer Space (afore-mentioned), Plan 9 From Outer space, Invasion of the Saucer men, They came from beyond space, Godzilla vs the astro monster, Cannibal - the musical, Demons, Flowers in the attic (seriously funny)...
I could go on all night. I find bad cinema entertaining. All the more so if it's sincere. I spent my money and I WILL be entertained. Alien vs Predator was pretty funny too.
Team America wouldn't count on this forum because the dreadfulness is intentional. I think it's a stormer.
For those of you unfamiliar with this flick, basically it's about...well, hell I can't tell you what it's really "about." Patrick Swayze plays a travelling "bar bouncer" of sorts who either can't or won't stay in the same place because of his unique talent of being able to "clean up" various roadside pubs after they've developed a bad reputation or attracted a bad class of customer (exactly how a roadside bar is supposed to avoid these things is never explained). In other words, he's the man you call when the local yokels get a little disorderly and start trashing the ol' shithole out there on I-70...
Anyhow, eventually Swayze's barroom heroics catch up to him when he runs into this small-town business guy and refuses to pay him "protection" money like all the other hillbillies in town (it should be noted that Swayze's character, in contrast, is no hillbilly. He has a degree in philosophy from NYU and knows martial arts and meditates. I am not making this shit up.) Soon after, he meets up with the obligatory Guru archetype character--played by Sam Elliot--who joins in the struggle.
I won't give any more away to those who haven't seen it, because this shit is just too funny.

I just love True Lies, T2, Predator and Total Recall and can watch them literally over and over.
I agree, but you have to go further back for me. I'm talkin' the "Conan" trilogy, "Commando," "The Running Man", and maybe the guiltiest pleasure of all, "Twins."

First off, nothing was edited above. I was trying to quote but hit the edit button by mistake.
Secondly, what's the ThirdConan movie?
"Naked Woman, Naked Man Where did you get that nice sun tan?"

Sorry, I should have clarified a bit. I was talking about "Red Sonja." And although it is not a "Conan" movie, it came out right after "Conan the Destroyer" and is itself very Conanesque.

Cheech & Chong movies always crack me up. These are great to watch when feeling down.
I love grade-B, cheesy sci-fi & horror flicks from the mid-late 1950s through the early 1970s. I've been buying these up on dvd when I can. Anything from "Plan 9 from Outer Space" to "The Horror of Party Beach" to "Blacula" is worth watching and a happy guilty pleasure.

Here's my ultimate top 10 Guilty Pleasures list, tam tam taaaaaaaam. It's in no particular order really. Some are on the list because they can be seen as girly or cheesy and some because they can be seen as mediocre...others because of both these reasons.
1/ The Little Mermaid 2/ The Sound of Music 3/ Conan the Barbarian 4/ Cocktail 5/ Alice in Wonderland 6/ Always 7/ Judge Dredd 8/ Overboard 9/ Forget Paris 10/ Planet of the Apes (2001) 11/ Flintstones 12/ Days of Thunder 13/ Queen of the Damned 14/ Earth Girls Are Easy 15/ Dreamcatcher 16/ Inspector Gadget 17/ Batman Forever 18/ Hollow Man 19/ Once Bitten 20/ Spy Hard
I try to keep people from knowing I like humor involving neurotic people, that borders on the "ridiculous," such as "Best in Show." In reality life is so serious! Watching the absurd is like a reprieve from reality for me. "Spaceballs" and "Naked Gun" are two others in this genre.
Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

I love the Naked Gun, and as for Spaceballs, it was fun in parts. I would definitely recommend Mel Brooks' Dracula: Dead and Loving it, I'm sure you'll appreciate it. It's become kind of a cult classic in my house, I love it. And I think it fits with the "genre" you speak of.
lol, Underworld admittedly looked very good and it had its moments but I guess people were put off by its length and that bit where he guy gives mouth to mouth to the vampire girl. What was that all about? Since when can a vampire die of drowning?!!? Having said that, I thought it was enjoyable (at times) and I believe a sequel would fix some of the problems of the first film...hopefully.
I don't even feel too soiled about confessing to this one: Happy Gilmore. There are a few gags in there that are way, way too good for the film - the cleaner miming to "Endless Love" gets me every time.
ABOUT LAST NIGHT is one of my guilty pleasures. I am one of the few to see it and one of the fewer to even like it. It is the film version of David Mamet's play SEXUAL PERVISITY IN CHICAGO. Mamet disowned the film and Vincent Canby in the Times panned the movie.
That said, I loved it and own the DVD and have seen it three or four times. It is one of two good roles for Rob Lowe (the other was BAD INFLUENCE) and Demi Moore was never better. Also the normally obnoxious Jim Belushi was sensational and Lowe's boorish sidekick and Elizabeth Perkins was excellent as Moore's insolent best friend.
I don't know what touched me about this film, but I was around the age of the characters when this one came out in the mid 1980s and it just touched a nerve in me about twentysomethings trying to find their way in life. It has terrific insights on romance and friendship and there is just so verisimilitude to the film.
The director Ed Zwick made other good films (GLORY, COURAGE UNDER FIRE) but for me ABOUT LAST NIGHT is the keeper among them.

I actually have fond memories of KKFOS. I don't know if you need to feel guilty about enjoying this one. I saw it only on video taped off TV and it was a while ago, but I thought it chilling. I also remember it had a terrific soundtrack.
Ok, I have the daddy of guilty pleasures, this is a film which I find really great fun and it's a shame it's not better know, I'm talking of course of Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze. Anyone know this film? Think of a cross between Flash Gordon and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

The Truman Show- love this damn movie Collateral- still gets my heart pumping Pay it Forward- love this movie too!
I have others but I'll list them later!
Some curious choices here. I don't know why you or anyone would feel guilty about seeing COLLATERAL. It had an A-list director (Michael Mann) and an A-list cast (Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx). It was an excellent film.
I don't think THE TRUMAN SHOW fits either. I wasn't crazy about this one, but it wasn't a bad film.
However, while I didn't see PAY IT FORWARD -- not too many people did -- this one would fit. Part of a string of stinkers Kevin Spacey has made post AMERICAN BEAUTY.

I don't know why you would be embarrassed by any of these three. UNDER SIEGE was the worst of the three you listed, but that film was actually interesting up to the point that Bruce Willis appeared then it fell apart.
BLAIR WITCH was a flat out terrific horror yarn that caught the zeitgeist by the tail. I saw it opening night in a sold out house and the whole audience was on the edge of its seats.
And STAND BY ME is one of the better of the films based on a Stephen King book. No reason to feel guilty about liking this one.

I think you have that confused with The Siege, which stars Denzel Washington and Annette Bening. Under Siege stars Steven Seagal and Tommy Lee Jones. I think that might count as a guilty pleasure. It was an enjoyable action flick, and one of Seagal's better movies. Blair Witch did nothing for me, but Stand By Me is a coming of age classic from the 80's.
