Hi, I really hope you guys can help me. My friend said this place has never let him down with finding old movie names. I will describe the three of them.
The first one is about some kids who end up with magical powers. I remember them going to some large type mansion on a hill, and there may have been like an old evil women takin care of them. the movie might have been called the magician or something along those lines. The kids may have been brother and sister. and at the end, they like meet up with their parents or something and learn that they have magic. it was live action movie. sorry about the very broad details, its all i can remember.
The second movie is about a boy that travels around with a lion i believe. For some reason, he is tryin to get somewhere with a lion. The only scene i remember is when the lion protects the boy and fights a bear for him. I also believe there may have been some people on his trail tryin to stop him. It is a live action movie.
The third one, I again dont have many details. Its about aboy that lives near this lake. there is like a legend that something lives in the lake. I only remember two scenes from this live action movie. one is that i believe the boy goes in the lake with a wacky old school set of scuba gear on, and the second one is when the "monster" from the lake is revealed (its something along the lines of nessie they believe) it turns out to just be like a large crane type of construction vehicle that was dumped there.
I am so sorry for my lack of any more details, but my viewings of them were so long ago, its all i can really remember. If someone can help put my mind at rest and reveal these to me, i would be very happy. thank you so much.
It would probably help if you told us approximately when and where you saw them. I'm also guessin' that you didn't watch all of 'em, since you'd probably have more details. Did you just watch a few minutes on TV or sneak in for a few minutes at the theatre? This is serious for getting any help because right now, I have no idea, or it could be hundreds of movies depending on whether ALL your memories are correct.
I want to help, and maybe someone else can, but more DATA please.

Hi, sorry for the delay in this reply....i have been so busy. The show about the lion and the boy i saw around 1984 (i also saw empire strikes back for the first time that night)i remember the lion movie was my favorite movie, and i saw it quite a few times, but i was so young i cannot remember....i was livin in florida at the time...
the one about the magician kids i saw around 87ish, and i watched the whole thing...i believe it was on tv...
the one about the "crane-monster" i saw in like 1989, it was on tv and i was just periodically watchin it while pl,ayin lego.....
hope this helps, either way thanks for the interest...
Legos you say? I was a Lego Maniac. (Not unlike Zack) I can't help you with your movies but I do love me some Legos. I pulled my collection out the other day for the first time in about 15 years. My intention was to get my 4 year old son interested in them but the result was a brief return to form for an ex-addict. After 2 days of building castles, Blacktron spaceships, and Forrestmen hideaways, my wife was considering divorce. I must say, I still have the magic touch when it comes to Lego creations. Good luck with the movies.

I have seen the crane monster! I remember watching this movie myself when I was younger.. though I can't remember the title either. I've been searching for a long time to try and figure it out and this is the first time someone else has mentioned the same movie. It's hard to shed anymore light on it, the only significant parts of the movie I can remember is the "monster" crane in the lake.. it was a mystery a group of kids were trying to solve. You mentioned it was on tv but I believe we had rented it, so there might be a hard copy of it too. this was in the early 90's I presume.. This movie has haunted me, I must know what it was! .... even though it prolly sucked.
Ok, Zerdawg had it! I guess I missed that. And "Frog Dreaming" didn't sound anything like what I was looking for, but the american release was indeed more sensibly named, "The Quest." I've been looking for that title for a long time.... Thank you!
