HancockI went to see this movie on the 4th and it wasn't as bad as all that. It was actually quite funny and it had some
MAJOR ACTION SEQUENCES!!!!!!!!!!! It did have a kinda strange origin for Hancock that I didn't fully understand, but I didn't go to this movie to understand anything BUT the action (and
that ugly bag of snakes was laid out straight than a mug!

). I also didn't find the movie to be all that uneven. Sure. The action suddenly stops for a bit in the middle, but it didn't leave
me bored. It's not a PERFECT movie (they coulda gone a few different directions than where they went with the picture), but it certainly wasn't a waste of time. Definetly a
Blu-buy. Hopefully they give it an
uncompressed soundtrack. That would be so sweeeeeeeet!
BIndependence DayWell, as I've done
EVERY July 4th since 1996, I watched
"Independence Day" after we were outta fireworks, but
this year I watched it again for the first time... on
Blu-ray! I couldn't believe how absolutely beautiful the picture and sound were! I mean, yes, I know
Blu-ray naturally looks and sounds better than DVD, but this movie is 12 feakin' years old! They didn't film it with HD cameras, but it certainly
looks like they did! EXAMPLE: There is a scene where they show a satelite collide with the Mother Ship and I always lost it in the darkness until it exploded on the ship's surface.
NOT THIS TIME! I was able to follow that tiny dot all the way to its point of contact! It kinda sucks that they didn't release the director's cut of the film, but at least I didn't have to sit through the dork's line at the end, "If we die, we'll both die virgins."

So frikkin' cheesy it gives me gas!

(I'm lactose intolerant.) I don't know why some people can't enjoy this movie. I've been in love with it since I first saw the trailer when I went to see
"Mission: Impossible"! Oh, yes. It was love at first sight. Sure there are parts that are ridiculous (a laptop that's compatible with alien technology, Africans apparently brung a Destroyer down with spears, the nuke disintegrates the Mother Ship), but it's one helluva ride! And in the end, isn't that what Summer is all about?
AWall-EWell, Pixar has finally made up for making
"Cars" (I
still haven't watched it all the way through and NEVER WILL.
I CAN'T STAND THAT MOVIE! It probably has sumpthin' to do with Larry the Cable Guy or maybe it's just because cars without people is one of the STUPIDEST ideas to me. Why couldn't they do like they did on Looney Tunes? I'm sure you guys know what I'm talkig about.

). I caught
"Wall-E" with the fam yesterday and this has become one of my (and my son's) favorite CG-animated flicks. In fact, it falls just under
"The Incredibles". They say this little guy was inspired by Johnny 5 (
"Short Circuit" for those of you who have been living under a rock), but Wall-E makes "him" look like a pile of puke! I've one word that sums up this movie:
ADORABLE!A all the way!
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the
terrifying lows, the
dizzying highs, the
creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the
blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called
'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this
Monkey_Boy?!"
