That would have to be Glen or Glenda or Ed Wood.

"Don't worry. Marines will make men out of you."

One of my VERY, VERY favorite films: The Wanderers(!)

"...and I proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, and with geometric logic, that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox did exist..."

I seem to be on a hot streak getting a few right!

mark_f's quote would be from The Caine Mutiny

BTW - I also like "The Wanderers" a lot too. Lots of stuff going on in that movie in many, many layers.

But back to the thread and my quote:

"Have you ever wondered how sad it is that your son's only sexual outlet is tossing off to magazines in the bathroom?"

"Oh Gary! You told me you were combing your hair!"

One of my all-time favorites - Weird Science.

Give this one a shot:

"What is your objective?" "My objective? Well I object to taking a girl out, you know, and buying her dinner and then she won't put out for you."

That would be Chevy Chase from Spies Like Us

Here you go

"Don't be stupid. Be a smarty. Come and join the Nazi party."

That is of course taken from The Producers

There are a number of quotes that I really like from this movie, but the one I'll choose is:

"I'll just have a salad please. Umm...baby field greens."

"What did you just call me?"

Well, this thread has been idle for a week now so I gave up and decided to Google it. It's from Intolerable Cruelty

"Oh guys. Don't stay here all day. I had to take the batteries out of the carbon monoxide detector. It was beeping all night. "

I don't know if you were correct earlier, Heather, but your quote is definitely Salieri talking about Amadeus.

"...the limb is mightier than the thumb!"

That quote is from It Happened one Night. Oh, and yes, my quote before was from Garden State.

"Name a shrub after me. Something prickly and hard to eradicate."

Would that one be Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World?
If it is:

"What is it with men and asking for directions?"

I just saw it on Netflix for the first time. That would be Tom Jones

Well, I know what this one is because E.M. has been babbling it all over the house the past few weeks, after he recently saw Spirited Away for the second time.

Okay, my turn:

"The dead only know one thing. That it's better to be alive."

That is Full Metal Jacket

This one is probably going to be easy

"This is it, Joel. It's going to be gone soon."
"I know."
"What do we do?"
"Enjoy it."

Come on, I can't believe nobody's gotten this one yet. It's so easy. He included the character's name in the quote. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

"I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is."

I want to bring back this thread because I like it, so I Googled the quote. It's from Deliverance.

"Guy gets on the MTA here in L.A. and dies. You think anyone will notice?"
