Here's a laugh. For the equivalent of 11 US dollars, I just picked up a box set of 20 'Grindhouse' movies. Now my problem is that I really don't feel like sitting thru 20 probably piss poor films, in order to find the truly, truly entertainingly bad. Anyone know the good ones of this lot:
Womens Camp 119 Tortured Angels Savage man/ Savage Beast Raw Force Confessions of a Police Captain Executioner 2 Poseidon Explosion Earthquake 7.9 Violent Professionals Frank & Tony Kung Fu Punch of Death Return of the Tiger Go Kill & Come Back Bounty Man Three Tough Guys Mandinga The Children Demon Witch Child High School Hitch Hikers Carry On Emannuelle
The only one I've seen is the last, the Emannuelle.
Aren't the titles alone priceless? Three Tough Guys??!!!## How long did they spend on thinking that up? ha ha

But I would love to know the plot of Womens Camp 119. Try saying High School Hitch Hikers ten times fast. Kung Fu Punch of Death actually sounds pretty good. But I have a soft spot for Kung Fu.
Thanks for the laugh Ishmaels.

So, I put aside Mon Oncle and Gettysburg, two recent purchases, to dive head first into schlock central.
Tortured Angels. Bunch of caged Japanese vixen heat. Godawful, and not in a good way.
Savage Man/Savage Beast. Hilarious! Really bad American drivel, copied onto dvd from some 11th generation videotape. Blooody picture kept rolling, and turning into white noise. I used to go mental when that happened to my rental tapes; now I pay good money (or not) and laugh ironically!

Personally, I think Womens Camp 119 and High School Hitch Hikers sound the most promising, althought I love the simplicity of Go Kill & Come Back.
I think I remember a movie being released in II form with no I having been made. Don't recall what is was. Some of the movies on that least beg to be watched. I would look at that first one - I just could not help myself

Quite funny, indeed, my floating pall of Ahab's crew! I was thinking the same thing as I was watching "Planet Terror". In fact, I was quite disappointed that "Death Proof" lost it's scratches during the car chase! I guess having the cleanest picture and sound for nearly a decade has created within us a longing for "simpler times". Who woulda thunk it?

I've ordered two dvds of the "Welcome to the Grindhouse" series. The first of these two-fers is The Teacher/The Pick-Up. The second two-fer set is Malibu High/Trip with Teacher. The descriptions looked pretty interesting and the dvds are pretty cheap.
What also looks like fun is the Diary of a Nymph Grindhouse DVD Collection and the Sex On Wheels Grindhouse DVD Collection. These gotta be classics.

Careful what ya call "GRINDHOUSE", guys. The Weinstein Company has a copyright on the term and is actually sueing other film production companies trying to "cash-in" on the craze they feel they started, or should I say "re-started"? This was reported by Ain't It Cool News.com, but I can't find the friggin' article now.

Amazingly, I haven't seen or heard of any of the films on your list.
This is most unusual as I've subjected myself to thousands of bad movies including Slugs, They came from beyond space, Attack of the giant Leeches, The Evil beneath Loch Ness, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Frankenhooker, I Drink Your blood/I Eat your Skin and many others.
These must be movies that went under the radar of the 'under the radar' scene.
