OK, enough movie bashing; I can bash with the best, but I refuse to walk out if I paid, and I don't go to sleep (usually) unless I'm wasted (why did I go in the first place, then?)
Which movie did you return to the theatre to see the most? Hey, if you don't watch movies twice at the theatre, there must be one which you have at home, or at least, want to.
I mentioned earlier how "Jaws" got me through the summer of '75. I saw that 25 times at the theatre. Yeah, I know, I STILL need to get a life! What about anybody else?
"Naked Woman, Naked Man Where did you get that nice sun tan?"

I was Dazed & Confused six (6) times during the summer of '93. It perfectly captured that 70s feel, even though I was a little dude at the time. Unlike other "period" teen flicks, this one just feels so genuine, and the music is fantastic.

Hmmm..... true confessions. Well, I saw A Hard Day's Night 14 times, although I was a 12-year-old Beatlemaniac at the time. I saw Body Heat several times at the theater..... I was somewhat older, but William Hurt had a similar effect then as the Beatles did when I was 12 <g> For artistic reasons, I saw Waking Life two times in the same number of days. There was so much going on visually, it was difficult to pay attention to the words the first time I saw it. I found it immensely creative, original, and intelligent.

That truth or dare/nude scene kept me coming back...
It wasn't the nude scene for me. She's just so damned cute!! It's what I like to call a heartwarming movie, and it was always an inside joke that I loved the movie (which I really do), until a friend of mine got it for me for my birthday. Whenever I'm feelin' a little blue, that freakin' movie cheers me up! It's unrealistic as hell, but damned good. In my opinion, her career went south after this film. The diva thing doesn't suit her.

My record is the first Matrix @ 7 times. The others that really stand out are fellowship with 6 and both towers and return of the king with 5 each. If I really dig a movie, though, I'll probably end up seeing it again in the theater, although I do it less often than i used to. Last film I saw twice in the theater was farenheit 9/11, cuz my mom hadn't seen it, (you know how it's like seeing it for the first time if you're with someone who hasn't seen it?)
I saw "The Usual Suspects" the Friday night it came out and then went back at noon on Saturday to drag some more friends to see it. I still love that movie.

I remember I saw Jurassic Park like 5 times when it came out, I think though that I was dragged to some of those viewings, parents sure did love that Michael Critchon fag!
Matrix, I saw 9 times, many of those were by myself. Knew nothing about it, hadn't even seen a trailer. All I saw was a movie display with a lot of guns and leather and thought I will see this movie.
Still the best movie experiences have been LOTR. I averaged about 6 viewings per movie, the best of those being Trilogy Tuesday with my brother and a friend, I still have my name tag that we were given to put on the back of the seat to reserve it throughout the Trilogy, best viewing ever.

Yeah, Trilogy Tuesday was good, best way to see Return of the King - ever. But my Fellowship experience wasn't as keen as the first time I saw it. I'd prob say that towers was better @ trilogy tuesday, however.
i usually never see a movie more than once in the theater, but i saw charlie and the chocolate factory a second time. Also, ive seen eternal sunshine about 3 or 4 times on dvd (i missed seeing it in theaters)

The movie I have seen more than any other in the theater is Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I think it came out when I was about 9 or 10, and there was a movie theater within walking distance. This coupled with the fact movies only costed a couple bucks led to numerous viewings.
----------------------- It's been emotional.

There is one movie in my life that I immediately had to go back and see and it resulted in subsequent visits so that within a year of its initial release I had seen Alien (1979) seven times. This movie is number 6 on my all-time favorite movie list. Besides 2001: A Space Odyssey, I feel that it is the best sci fi movie that has been made. When this movie came out, it built on the serious reality of 2001 and made sci fi a legitimate film genre by dealing with a sci fi/monster script in the most of terms - typical of Ridley Scott, the director, who even had the name of the corporation of the Nostromo sewed into the panties of Ripley that are seen at the end of the movie. The naturalistic acting and the entire handling of the script was sharp, crisp and believable. The small nuances of human behavior and the sound effects are often missed, many of which I picked up on repeated viewings. There is more going on in this movie on a psychological level that a cursory viewing provides.

I saw both "House of Dark Shadows" and the original "Walking Tall" 6 times at the theaters. I almost viewed "Rock-N-Roll High School" a 6th time but I missed it's final showing in town.

Although I have not seen any movies more than twice in the theater, the movies that I've have watched the most are L. A. Confidential and Memento. I rarely want to watch a movie more than once, because I get bored. These movies are special and keep me coming back.
I have watched the "Mad Maxx" triology over and again. From the first, gritty, cheaply made "Mad Maxx" to the costly "Thunderdome," I was hooked. There is something captivating about watching the human creature stripped of all trappings, especially when stripped of the values and feelings that make one fully human. Perhaps we are drawn to movies like this because there is a part of us that knows we can act like animals more easily than we like to think. Maybe this triology works much like a horror movie, except the monster we fear most is the human no longer held by the structures of law and social values.
Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

I saw "A History of Violence" a second time, simply because it was the last day it would be showing in my area. My personal record is "Jurassic Park", I think I saw it 7 times in the theatre. What's particularly incredible about this is A) I wasn't old enough to drive and B) I never saw it alone.

A more recent movie that I have been compelled to see a number of times is The Cooler (2003). The music by Mark Isham is one of the most mesmerizing in film and the storyline is so romantically dazzling in the glitter and grit of Las Vegas. The acting, directing, the cinematography all combine to produce a modern tale fairy tale of an recent place and time rapidly disappearing. I went on to see this movie four times just to experience it again and again, soak in the fantastic imagination of Las Vegas and dramatic romance. Maria Bello would again appear in another sexually powerful depiction in A History of Violence (2005).
