I'll probably pick up THE DEPARTED this week to take advantage of the sales. It was released on DVD today and it is still playing in theatres. Hopefully, it will win Best Picture and Marty Scorcese will bag his first and long overdue first Oscar for Best Director.

I just bought "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" for my son. That little turd is only 3 years old & he just loves that flick. For myself, I wasn't looking for it, but had always wanted it, 'Sledge Hammer!'. My most favoritist show in the whole, wide world! I hadn't seen it since my childhood, but I have such fantastic memories of this show, it's worth it, if only for the nostalgic value!

"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

By the way, 'Sledge Hammer!' is still fantasically hilarious! The best part? They removed the stupid laugh track! Oh, this is fantastic!

Just picked up:
"The Longest Yard" '05-Loved it, & for 10 bucks, couldn't pass it up.
"Orange County"-Once again, enjoyed this one & it was cheap!
"Gremlins" Special Edition-They came out with this version right after I had already bought the bare bones one. So, I waited until it was cheap to grab it.
"Brick"-Very interesting detective story & for 10 bucks, had to have it.
"Ghost"-Bought it for my wife. I actually HATE this movie.
"Ernest Goes to Jail"-Bought it for my son. I, must admit, it's still funny to me.

I love that movie too! I think that Jack Black is so funny in that one:

I just received "Hard Candy" & "Leon the Professional" Deluxe Edition in the mail. They were my rewards for signing up a friend with Columbia House. I'm getting a tad bit upset that EVERYTIME I purchase a movie, they come out with a "Special Deluxe Director's Cut Edition". This has happened with "Gremlins", "Jaws", "The 5th Element", "Leon the Professional", "Gone in 60 Seconds" '74 & 2000, "Con Air", "Gladiator", "Boyz N the Hood", "Mission:Impossible", & dozens, maybe hundreds of others! When will it end?! Luckily, I was able to get "Leon the Professional" Deluxe Edition for free this time.

"American Splendor" just arrived!!!!!!!!! I would sooo leave this guy negative feedback, because I paid for 2 day shipping & it took 2 flippin' weeks, but I got it through my mom's eBay account & she's a big seller. She's afraid that if she leaves him negative feedback, he'll leave her negative freedback. So, he'll get away with this rip-off! I'm watchin' this baby tonight & I'll let ya know what I thought of it, FragileKidA Wink!

Just got another shipment, but "Pan's Labyrnith" wasn't in with it, so I guess it'll be here tomorrow. Here's hoping! As for the others, since I paid full price for "Pan" I got the others for around 6-9 bucks so I grabbed a few I've wanted just for collector's sake, not really 'cuz they were great flicks. So, don't judge my tastes too harshly!

"Apt Pupil"- One of my favorite Singer movies after "The Usual Suspects".

"The Relic- I liked the concept, but when they caught the monster on fire at the end, it looked like the fire from "The Lawnmower Man". I don't think that was what they were aiming for.

"Serenity"- Loved the movie, but couldn't order 'Firefly'! Dag-nab-it! I've gotta get the series from somewhere else!

"Superman II"- A sequel that was better than the original! Because I have the 4-disc set of the first movie, I learned that these two were shot at the same time! However they let Donner go before he could finish production on the second. However, they are releasing a "Donner Cut" version of part 2, so I guess I'll be geting that, too.

"Supergirl"- I only got this because it's a comic book movie & I'm collecting all the ones I can. I've never seen it, but I heard it wasn't that great. After buying "Elektra", though, my goal went from getting GOOD CMB's to ALL CMB's, 'cause "Elektra" stunk monkey butt! But, hey, Helen Slater was adorable in the 80's! I wonder where she is now.

Well, this brings me to 762 DVD's total. I actually beat my goal of 100 movies a year by buying OVER 200 last year! With this shipment I had to promise the wife I wouldn't order anymore movies for awhile, but it's just so easy!!!! I had to show her that I pre-ordered a couple of movies so that when they show up in a few weeks, she won't think I ordered more behind her back. Man, why can't she be as big on movies as I am?
